Design Scholarship for new talents

The Scholarship ROCKANDBLUE Design Award, established in 2020 in collaboration with the Swedish fashion retail Magazine Habit, is a newly founded award with the purpose of discovering young and talented fashion designers from Denmark and Sweden. The award consists of two separate competitions where the winner of each competition will receive a Scholarship at the Habit Fashion Awards on November 19, 2020.

The Aim is to promote Scandinavian Design and aspiring designers from Sweden and Denmark.
The Ambition is to challenge today’s look, and discover new exciting design within the sections Leather and Outerwear.

The initiative is run by Salomon Dahan, CEO of House of SAKI, who has worked in the fashion industry for 40 years. He concludes that a scholarship can have a positive impact on both the industry and especially for fashion students whose future looks uncertain because of effects of the Corona pandemic.

'[...] I want to create opportunities for new talent to come forward. I want to give those that are now at fashion schools, a chance to end up right after their graduation. We have a rough time ahead of us and it's not easy to get into workplaces today. Therefore, these scholarships are one way to accelerate activities in the fashion industry and to encourage collaboration with the design schools.'

- Salomon Dahan, CEO House of SAKI

The messenger of the scholarships is the outerwear brand ROCKANDBLUE, which has an orgin i leather craftsmanship and the brand has created a loyal fan base.

The two scholarships are each worth SEK 30,000 and SEK 40,000, and are open for applications until the 14th of June 2020.
